Just got back from a family trip to southern Utah. We saw Zion and Bryce National Park. The good news – it’s there and it’s beautiful:
More good news: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has delayed its decision on the plan to build a coal mine next to Bryce Canyon National Park. The BLM received so many comments opposing Alton Coal’s proposal that they’ve decided to spend more time looking at the mine’s potential impacts.
It’s not a complete victory but it’s a step in the right direction. Never before has the BLM denied a proposal to build a coal mine on public lands. The announcement that they’re taking more time to study the impacts of the Alton Coal Mine means we’re making progress. Help keep the momentum going.
